How long does Veeam backup implementation take?
Basic implementation for environments up to 10 servers typically takes 1–2 business days. Complex hybrid environments with multiple locations or cloud workloads should expect 3–5 days. We also include testing and administrator training.
How much does Veeam backup cost?
Pricing depends on the number of protected workloads, required storage, and management scope. Veeam licenses per protected instance (VM, physical server, cloud endpoint). Where are backups physically stored?
Backups are stored on servers in a Czech Tier III data center — we do not use foreign cloud providers unless the client requests it. Off-site backups are kept in a different physical location from the primary data to survive a physical disaster (fire, flood). Data never leaves Czech jurisdiction.
What is the difference between BaaS and DRaaS?
BaaS (Backup as a Service) provides regular backups of your data. DRaaS (Disaster Recovery as a Service) goes further — it includes a recovery plan and guarantees that in the event of a disaster, your operations will be restored within an agreed time (RTO). If you only need backups, BaaS is sufficient. If you need to guarantee business continuity, choose DRaaS.
What are RTO and RPO?
RTO (Recovery Time Objective) is the maximum acceptable downtime — by when systems must be restored. RPO (Recovery Point Objective) is the maximum acceptable data loss — how old a snapshot is acceptable in the event of a disaster. Before implementation, we define both values based on your needs and regulatory requirements.
Does Microsoft automatically back up my Microsoft 365 data?
No. Microsoft protects the infrastructure, not user data. Emails, SharePoint documents, and Teams messages are not automatically backed up. Without a dedicated backup solution (such as Veeam for Microsoft 365), this data is permanently lost in the event of accidental deletion or a ransomware attack.
How often are backup restore tests performed?
We recommend testing restores at least once per quarter. As part of our managed service, we run automated SureBackup tests (a Veeam feature) monthly and perform manual full-server restore tests at least 4 times per year. Test results are documented.
Can Veeam protect hybrid environments (physical servers + cloud)?
Yes. Veeam Backup & Replication is designed specifically for hybrid infrastructures — it backs up physical servers (Windows, Linux), virtual machines (VMware, Hyper-V), NAS storage, and cloud workloads (AWS, Azure, Microsoft 365) from a single console.
How does data recovery work during a disaster?
You call our support, together we identify the scope of the disaster and start recovery. For server backups, we guarantee an SLA of 15 minutes for starting recovery.
Can the contract be terminated at any time?
Yes. The contract is monthly with a 30-day notice period. No penalties, no hidden fees for leaving.
